Our Surgeon – Dr. Byron Young, Boarded Surgeon

Dr. Byron Young is a graduate of Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine. In 2002, he completed his surgical residency and Master’s of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. After completing his surgical residency and Master’s, he became a member of ACVS. Prior to joining Suncoast Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center, he served as the Staff Surgeon with D.C. Vets Small Animal Veterinary Surgery of Northern Virginia and Maryland. He excels in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries with special interests in reconstructive surgery as well as arthroscopy. Dr. Young is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncologists. He also serves as an active ACVS committee member.
